About the challenge
What is the Battle Against Baby Loss?
The Battle Against Baby Loss (BABL) is a streaming and gaming event, where you, your friends and family can stream any activity that you choose to do – individually or as a group and ask your contacts to support you as you do your activity.
You could be gaming, performing music, comedy or magic. Dancing, taking on a physical challenge, showcasing your art, hosting a quiz, anything you can dream up!
Why should I take part in the Battle against baby loss?
To have some fun while you stream and to raise funds, ensuring we're able to continue funding pioneering research to save babies’ lives and improve maternity care across the UK
When is the Battle against baby loss?
The event takes place from Monday 19 to Sunday 25 July 2021 – you choose the length and frequency of your stream.

How do I register?
Simply create your profile and page here.
Can I register more than one person under the same email?
No, as everyone has their own account. You are of course more than welcome to fundraise as a team with one account and one page. Make sure you update the information on your page to let people know.
Can kids register?
Yes, but we do recommend adult supervision. When it comes to streaming please check the age restrictions on the site. You need to be 13 or older in order to stream on Twitch, YouTube and Facebook (other platforms may differ).
Does it cost anything to take part?
No, entry is FREE and you can set your own fundraising targets.
Can my workplace get involved?
Yes please! You can do team challenges and fundraising – just create a team and invite others to join.
How do I create a team?
On registration, you have the option to create a team. Choose a team name that will appeal to all your team members and invite them to join. You can edit the images, blog and add team goals.
How do I invite people to join my team?
Simply copy and paste your team page link and share it however you like. …..
How do I join a team?
Navigate your way to the team page you want to join and, as long as they have set the settings to allow people to join, you will see a join us button under their team name.
Can I join a team after I have already registered as an individual?
Yes, no problem – just navigate your way to the team page you want to join and, as long as they have set the settings to allow people to join, you will see a join us button under their team name.
Can I join after the challenge has started?
Yes no problem!
When does my live stream have to start?
We would love it if your stream could be in the Battle Against Baby Loss event week of Monday 19 – Sunday 25 July, but the site is open for you to host your stream whenever you like.

Log back in on the www.team.tommys.org site and click your name (top right) and select Fundraising Page.

We’ve all done it! Click 'Login' in the top right corner of the page, enter the email address you registered with and hit 'Forgot password?'. You’ll be able to follow the instructions from there. If you are still having issues, please send an email to email@example.com and we'll be able to help.
Can I get involved on social media?
Sure! Share your page, or team page. Ask for support, advertise your streaming times and invite others to join your team or set up their own.
As you go through your Battle Against Baby Loss journey we will send you accolades, overlays and suggestions for what you can share.
Where do the funds go?
Tommy’s is a registered charity in England and Wales (1060508) and Scotland (SC039280). We fund pioneering research to find causes and treatments for pregnancy complications to prevent baby loss and improve maternity care across the UK. How will I raise funds?
The choice is yours. You could do a gaming marathon, host a live streaming event, or host a virtual event with friends and family. You can make your own fundraising milestones and set challenges when you reach each milestone too. Make sure to share, share, share, your fundraising page on all your socials and with everyone you know. Regular updates are also a great way to remind people what you are up to.
Do I have to wait until the challenge starts to start fundraising?
No! In fact, the earlier you start the more donations you are likely to see. Try and encourage your biggest supporters to donate first as that will encourage others to be more generous.
Am I able to claim gift aid on donations?
Yes. If the donor is eligible for gift aid they can read the gift aid declaration and select to allow gift aid. There are certain rules around fundraising and claiming gift aid. You can find out more on the government website here.

Where can I get help fundraising?
Sharing links to your fundraising page and reminding people on your live stream is a great place to start. Shout loud and proud about your plans. Share your links everywhere to everyone you can think of. You’ll be surprised who steps up to support you. We also have a community discord you can join and ask for ideas and engage with other fundraisers. Click here to join!
How do I add cash donations to my tally?
Log back in on the www.team.tommys.org site and click your name (top right) and select My Donations. There you’ll see a big pink button saying Add Offline Donation – follow the instructions to pay in your cash donations.
Can I donate directly to Tommy's and the Battle Against Baby Loss event, rather than an individual or team?
Sure, just click 'Find a friend' at the top of any page. Select donate directly to charity.
How do I update my fundraising goal?
Whoop whoop! If you are nearing your goal, raise it to show support is still needed. Log back in on the www.team.tommys.org site and click your name (top right) and select Edit My Page – there you will see the option to change your fundraising target.
Remember to thank all your supporters so far and tell them that they have helped you so much you are increasing your target. It might give you another chance to ask them to share your page.
How do I create or update my fundraising page?
Log back in on the www.team.tommys.org site and click your name (top right) and select Edit My Page – there you will see the option to change your profile picture, streaming platform details and schedule, blog and gallery along with your fundraising target.
How do I share my fundraising page?
Log back in on the www.team.tommys.org site and click your name (top right) and select Fundraising Page. Under - your amount raised - you’ll see the share buttons. You can also copy your link by going to the Dashboard page.
How do I find a friend or family member to donate to?
Just click Find A Friend at the top of any page. In the search bar type their name or profile name.
